The reconstruction of the Alytus railway viaduct above Naujoji Street has been completed, significantly improving traffic conditions and infrastructure in the city center.
Completed Works:
- The old bridge’s reinforced concrete structures (slabs, pile caps, parts of supports) were dismantled using hydraulic breakers and shears, with the resulting debris removed to authorized waste management facilities.
- A new steel arch structure was built over the street, ensuring the viaduct’s stability and long-term durability.
- Naujoji Street was widened beneath the viaduct, with four traffic lanes and a bicycle path added, improving both vehicular and bicycle traffic and enhancing overall road safety.
This project has created better conditions for both local residents and transit traffic while improving urban infrastructure and ensuring smooth and safe movement through the city.
