For the second year in a row, the Alkesta team has been spending the summer actively by coming together for a kayaking trip. This initiative is gradually becoming a beautiful company tradition, offering an opportunity to spend time together outside the work environment.

This year, the team chose a 13-kilometre route along the scenic Verknė River. Although the weather forecast before the event did not look promising – with possible rain and even a storm predicted – nature was kind, and the participants enjoyed excellent weather throughout the day.

After the kayaking trip, everyone gathered at the Paverknio baidarės recreation area, where there was no shortage of delicious food, laughter and shared activities. Colleagues grilled shashlik, enjoyed snacks, socialised and took part in fun team challenges, such as filling a leaky container with water, throwing balls and tug of war. The teams competed in a friendly atmosphere, and the best-performing participants were awarded medals.

“However, the most important achievement of the day was not the prizes, but the good mood, sense of togetherness and time spent together,” said Ramunė Šimanskienė, Technical Documentation Engineer at Alkesta.

Company CEO Titas Lukšas, who spent time together with the team, was pleased with the opportunity to be together and emphasised that such moments help build stronger relationships: “In our daily routine, we are all rushing between work, tasks and responsibilities, so there is often too little time simply to talk calmly. This trip was a great opportunity to step away from the routine, communicate informally, joke around and strengthen our connection. It is precisely moments like these that allow us to get to know one another better, and this later carries over into our work – making cooperation much easier and smoother.”

The event brought together not only the company’s employees – some colleagues were also joined by their partners. In total, more than 30 people took part in the kayaking trip, so there was no shortage of positive emotions or enjoyable conversations.

“Moments like these remind us that a strong team is built not only through work, but also by spending leisure time together. I believe that after a day spent with the team, each of us took away many impressions, smiles, a great mood and memories that will continue to bring joy for a long time,” shared Lina Pikūnė, Project Coordinator at Alkesta.

A wonderful day spent on the Verknė River once again reminded everyone that the best moments are created by being together, so there is no doubt that this beautiful tradition will continue next year as well.
